Ayok Diil community in Diaspora has bought a 60-passenger boat for community in Rumamer county. ‘Ayok Diil’ is part of ‘Diil’ one of the nine clans of Ngok Dinka.
Arop Kuol Kon, Chief of ‘Diil’ expressed gratitude about the purchase of the boat. He added the boat is being shipped and will reach Abyei soon.
Communities in Rumamer County had appealed for assistance with means to cross ‘Kiir river’ that divides the County.
In April, Abyei FM reported that villagers in both Majak and Rumamer Counties requested for the repair of their nine boats. They said failure to work on the boats soon means limited access to basic services during rainy season when Kiir river is overflowing.
