Senegal won the African Cup of Nations, for the first time in its history, after beating Egypt 4-2 on penalties, flowing a 0-0 draw in the 120-minute final, on Sunday.
The competitive match was played Olympic Stadium in Cameroon Capital Yaounde.
Ahmed Sayed Zizou and Marwan Hamdi scored for Egypt, while Mohamed Abdel Moneim and Muhannad Lashin missed the penality.
Kalidou Koulibaly, Abdo Diallo, Pampa Diang and Sadio Mane scored for Senegal, while Bona Sarr missed penality kicks yielded no goals.
The Senegal team got rid of the previous stigma.
Their team was called “the best football team that has never won the African Championship.
