Some residents in Abyei town have appealed to health authorities to put those coming from Sudan under quarantine because of fear of contracting novel Coronavirus.
They also called for establishment of quarantine centers in which those who come from Coronavirus affected countries will stay for two weeks.
In response, the Acting Director General for Health Administration in Abyei, Kon Thon Mayen, said the facilities will be put up soon.
He added that they are consulting humanitarian non-governmental organizations supporting health in Abyei Administrative Area on the formation of Coronavirus task force team.
Two people in Sudan died after they got infected with Coronavirus.
According to data filed by Johns Hopkins University, the pandemic has infected more than 870,000 people and has killed more than 43,000.
