Uganda police are holding 10 South Sudanese for entering illegally into Uganda during COVID-19 lockdown. According Eye radio news Network report, the South Sudanese were going to search for food in Uganda.
Like other rest of the world, Uganda has put strict measures including border shutdown to control the spread of COVID-19 outbreak.
Aswa region’s police spokesperson said the suspects are being held in Elegu border town of Uganda. Patrick Jimmy said the south Sudanese will be charged with violation of COVID-19 lockdown. He added that the suspects will be taken to Gulu district where they will be tried.
Uganda has 55 confirmed cases of Coronavirus infection and no deaths recorded.
