Abyei Civil Hospital on Wednesday received a three-month supply of medicines from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The Acting Director General of the Health Department in Abyei, Antar John, said in a statement to Abyei FM that the medicines donated by UNICEF include antimalarials and other medications. He explained that the medicines would be used in the hospital for three months, noting that they gave priority to Abyei Civil Hospital as the only government facility that operates 24 hours a day. John added that the health department will work closely with other hospitals to ensure the availability of medicines.
The government official thanked UNICEF for its generous assistance and appealed to the organization to always stand by their side.
Abyei Civil Hospital receives regular supplies of medicine from UNICEF every three months.
