The Abyei Youth Union Chairperson has called for an overall and inclusive Ngok Dinka conference to determine their fate.
Mr. Deng Aguer Deng made the call during a thanksgiving occasion on Thursday 11th April at the house of the minister of local government and rule of law who narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday 7th April.
He said that the Abyei community has been suffering for years, noting that it is time for the Ngok people to conduct the conference.
“We demand a conference to discuss internal issues, the fate of Abyei in the face of current situations in Sudan and South Sudan, and the area file managed by the SPLM,” said Deng.
Deng argued that the conference would help identify challenging issues facing the community if all participated, including the diaspora.
It is worth noting that the demand for an all-inclusive Ngok general assembly has been made time and again especially as existential threatens increase.
