The African Christian Ecumenical Alliance (ACEA) has received essential materials to support survivors of gender-based violence in the Abyei Special Administrative Area (ASAA).
The aid includes household items and small tradable items. Psychological support services for survivors of GBV will be provided.
The organization said that the aid arrived on Saturday from the capital Juba, with funding from the United Nations Population Fund, the International Organization for Migration, the United States Agency for International Development, the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
ACEA field coordinator Ms. Regina Ajak, stated that the assistance provided is for the new offices in the villages of Mading Achueng and Awolnhom, noting that arrangements have been completed to open the new offices in the two villages soon to support the victims there. Regina confirmed that victims of gender-based violence in Abyei will receive this aid in August.
