The Chief Administrator of Abyei Special Administrative Area (ASAA), Dr. Chol Deng Alak, Friday, discussed the restoration of peace and reconciliation between the Ngok and Twic communities with the High Committee for the Greater Bhar El Ghazal Region, at the Abyei Coordination Office in Juba.
The meeting was attended by the Abyei Government’s Chief Administrative, Dr. Chol Deng Alak, the Chief Administrator’s Advisor on Legal Affairs, Hon. Monyluak Aguer Rou, and the Head of the committee Dr. Riak Gai Kok and his Deputy Mr. Makiir Gai Thiep.
The Head of the Department of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, and the official Spokesperson for the Abyei Area government, Hon. Bulis Koch Aguar, said that the meeting focused on peace activities between the Ngok and Twic communities.
Hon. Koch indicated that the committee would hold comprehensive joint consultations with 100 people from Ngok and Twic in Juba, on achieving peace.
The official spokesman expected that the committee would visit the Abyei region early next September.
It is worth noting that the Abyei Administration Government recently chose the former Commissioner of Rumamer County Advocate Mithiang Wour Atem, to represent Abyei in the Greater Bahr el Ghazal Peace Committee.
