A delegation of Abyei Voice for Security and Stability, AVSS arrived in Abyei on Tuesday 22nd October.
The delegation comprised three people and was led by Mr. Jok Alor.
Mr. Jok told (Abyei FM) that they will conduct workshops for members of civil society, traditional administration, youth, and women.
He elaborated that there is a lack of information about the self-rule proposal in Abyei, noting that they will explain it in depth.
He noted that the workshops will begin once the authorities are informed.
Jok added that they will organize a rally and peaceful demonstration at UN headquarters in Abyei after they finish with the workshops.
Commenting on the AVSS visit, the Deputy Chief Administrator, Hon. Deng Arop Mading said they will discuss with the delegation their visiting agendas.
He stressed that no restriction on AVSS activities if they don’t breach security in the area.
