The residents of Wolnhom village in Alal County of Abyei Special Administrative Area (ASAA) are demanding medicines supplies from the health department and humanitarian organizations.
Ms. Achol Nyok Guor told (Abyei FM) on Monday 28th October.
Achol said she went to the health center when she felt sick, but she didn’t find medicines and was sent to a commercial pharmacy to buy medications.
She called on the health administration to work very hard and provide medicines to the village.
Amos Riak Malou a deputy principal at Awolnhom Primary School said several pupils who went to a health facility in the village couldn’t get medication and came back to school empty-handed.
He urged the health department to supply medicines so, that pupils can do their tests.
In response, the county health director denied knowledge of the drug shortages in the village.
Mr. Bol Makor promised to coordinate with the health administration for the provision of medicines as soon as possible.
Last month, the health department in collaboration with health partners and UNISFA soured medicines for seven months and supplied accessible health centers across the region.
The supplies were said to be part of the flood’s response.
