Community police in Abathok said an 11-year-old girl has been raped in Nyinjo in Mijak County. The Deputy Head of police in Abathok, Akol Atem Adol said the incidence occurred at the house of the victim on Sunday evening.
He said they filed a case against the unidentified suspect which he said they are pursuing.
However, eyewitness said they have identified the perpetrator from the personal belongings he left behind.
The girl has been referred to Agok for treatment.
This is the fifth rape case recorded in Abyei Administrative Area this year.
