The Commissioner of Rumamer County in Abyei Administrative Area has allowed tea selling businesses in market to re-open and start working over the weekend.
The businesses were banned on Sundays and Saturdays only. Women running tea business in Aniet market had complained about the effect of the order on them.
Two weeks ago, Mayot Kuniet, Commissioner of Rumamer County shutdown tea-taking, dominoes clubs and shisha-smoking shops in County’s markets. The order was issued as part of preventive measures against coronavirus pandemic.
The commissioner urges people to observe COVID-19 protocol including hand washing and social distancing. He also advises tea sellers to wash chairs.
On their side, women said they were happy about review of the order on closure of their business places.
