South Sudan’s vice president tells traders to reduce prices of essential commodities

The vice president of South Sudan, Dr. James Wani Igga has told traders to cut prices of essential commodities amidst Coronavirus pandemic. Igga is the head of economic cluster in the transitional government of national unity. He says essential commodities such as medicines and food should be sold at affordable prices.

Last week, South Sudan chamber of commerce urged traders to reduce prices of goods. The body accused business people of charging unfair prices. South Sudanese pound has gained a little strength against USD, but prices of goods continue to rise.
