Riel Nyan Abyei plants “Moringa” tree across Abyei Achai

A community based-organization, Riel Nyan Abyei is planting “Moringa” trees in all counties of Abyei.

Moringa is a plant that can be eaten as food or taken as herbal medicines for treatment of different diseases.

The organization brought 200 bags of moringa seeds and someone to sow them.

Tie Omda Tie, the person responsible for the activity, says the plant helps in treating diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. The planting started in Abyei town on Tuesday and will last for two weeks.

According to some researches, moringa oleifera lowers blood sugar and cholesterol levels. It is also nutritious and a source of several vitamins and minerals.
