
3, 485 girls studying in 25 schools, both primary and secondary will begin receiving cash on Thursday.
John Ajang Kiir, is the Director General of Education Information, Culture, Youth, and Sports in Abyei Administrative Area.
He says Adventist Development and Relief Agency and Ecobank will begin the payment in Abyei town and Akechnhial and later proceed to Rumamer and Abathok.
Ajang mentioned that the total amount of money is close to 12,197,500 South Sudanese pounds. He urges parents or guardians to come to the centers where the payment will be taking place.
The fund is part of the money given to support Girls’ education in South Sudan. There are about 37 learning facilities including secondary schools in Abyei.
This is the second time for school-going girls in Abyei to receive money from Girls’ Education South Sudan, (GESS).
