20 Community Police members including 6 women are being trained on dispute resolution and mediation in Agok. The three-day workshop which kicked off on Monday, is being conducted by International Organization for Migration.

IOM says the workshop intends to teach the police amicable ways of solving disputes that are happening in the community.

Anur Deng, police investigator in Agok, is one of the participants.

” We have benefited from the workshop, and we may be able to solve simple problems that are happening, Deng says adding “we will start taking our experience from the training into guiding the public through community police in negotiation process”

He says he will translate what he learned into serving the public.
