South Sudan Vice President, Wani Igga contracts COVID-19

South Sudanese Vice President- Dr. James Wani Igga

South Sudan vice president for economics cluster, Dr. James Wani Igga has tested positive for COVID-19. Igga declared his COVID-19 status on the national television on Saturday. He encourages the public to voluntarily go for Coronavirus test. With him, the number of South Sudan senior government officials who disclosed their COVID-19 positive results is five. 

Dr. Riek Machar Teny, First Vice President, Hussein Abdelbaggi, vice president for service cluster, information Minister and Defense ministers also announced to the public that they are infected by the Coronavirus.

According to the official, knowing your COVID_19 status can reduce the spread of the pandemic. South Sudan has 994 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 10 deaths and 6 recoveries as of Wednesday.
