Five civilians including a woman were killed and others were injured in Gumbo Sherikat in Juba on Wednesday morning. South Sudan People’s Defense Force Spokesperson, Lul Ruai Koang confirmed saying the shooting was caused by land dispute.

According to multiple sources, President Salva Kiir’s cousin, Lual Marine, opened gunfire near Bor Park. The incident triggered violent protest in which properties including cars were destroyed. Security organs blocked the road connecting Sherikat to Konyo-Konyo for some hours.
