Residents of Abyei town said they are affected by the delay of their food ration for May. They are saying their living condition is bad.

The Director of Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner in Abyei says the relief food will be distributed next week.

Kuaja Yai says the food distribution has taken longer time than usual because technical reasons related to the organization.

Every month, World Food Program is giving food assistance to people in Abyei affected by last year’s flood.

Not enough food was harvested last agriculture season because farms were destroyed by flood resulting from heavy rains.

This has made many families in the area solely dependent on relief food.
