Livestock vaccination, which was planned to take place soon, has been postponed to a date to be fixed. This came in a consultative meeting held on Thursday by some humanitarian organizations in Abyei.

Deng Goc, director general of agriculture, animal resources, forestry and fisheries in Abyei Administrative Area has confirmed it. He says the animals’ vaccination may take place August this year.

Deng Kueth, a pastoralist agreed on vaccination in August saying it is the period in which many livestock become sick. The director general appealed to livestock owners to be patient as they wait for the day of vaccination. Last month, pastoralists reported an outbreak of diarrhea among animals.
