Chief Administrator’s journey to Abyei Administrative Area extended to next week

New Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area-Gen. Kuol Deim Kuol

The coming of the newly appointed Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area Kuol Deim Kuol to Abyei Area will delay till Thursday next week. The coordinator of Abyei Coordination Office in Juba, Deng Bol has confirmed.

The head of the reception committee, Chol Arithok said preparations to receive Mr. Kuol are complete. Chol added that five sub-committees have also been formed for the same purpose. He encourages the public to turn up for the reception of the chief administrator.

According to Chol, free face masks will be available for those who will attend the event. He also appealed to people to observe social distancing during the welcoming.

Kuol Deim Kuol was appointed chief administrator of Administrative Area alongside eight state governors and other two chief administrators by President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit on 29th June. He was sworn in as chief administrator on July 1st and on July 7th as chairman of South Sudan’s ruling party, Sudan People’s Liberation Movement, SPLM in Abyei Administrative Area.
