The residents of Macbong located South East of Abyei Town are appealing to the new chief administrator to consider establishment of a health center among his priorities.
The chief of the area, Ajak Angui says people in his village are suffering due to lack of health services. He says sick people walk one to three hours in search of treatment in Abathok, Awal and Agok.
The community leader added that the crisis worsens during rainy season when roads become inaccessible by vehicles. He added that a sick person sometimes is carried on shoulders to hospital during rainy season.
Limited access to health services is one of the main challenges in Abyei Administrative Area. Last week, residents of Athony village, south Abyei town made the same appeal.
