Nine killed in Warrap state

At least nine men were killed, and two others injured during a clash between local youths and cattle raiders in Twic county in Warrap state.

Mayai Kiir Deng, the administrator of Majok Noon Boma in Aweng Payam, says the incident took place on Tuesday at 3 PM. He says the raiders stole cattle from Machar Maper, a neighboring village, but they were recovered from them following an exchange of gunfire.

Mayai said the armed youths confronted the raiders at Amut-goro river leaving nine from both sides dead. He says where the raiders came from is unknown.

On Saturday, unknown gunmen killed two fishermen in Awai-nhom fishing site in the same area.
