Eight cows were raided in Rum-Ajak located between Abyei Town and Amiet on Friday. No one was hurt. The Commissioner of Amenh-Aguok Couny, Nyok Deng Rou told Abyei FM. He says the cattle were taken away on the road to Amiet where they were going to be sold.
The raiders were unidentified. The official urged cattle dealers to move in groups to avoid similar incident. Cattle rustling is common in Abyei Administrative Area.
Last week, unknown gunmen raided twenty-five herds of cattle in Awolnom south of Abyei town. The raiders were pursued but none of the livestock was recovered.
