
Police have detained sixteen people over the murder of three children in Juba. The Inspector-General of South Sudan Police told the media on Monday.
General Majak Akec said they are working to find to establish facts about “this horrific case.” The suspects include neighbors.
On Saturday three siblings were found murdered in Rock city. The girls who were aged nine, seven and four were slaughtered by unknown person while watching a television.
Police and community members said the parents were absent when the incident took place. The murder shocked many people across the country.
President Salva Kiir issued a statement on Monday condemning the incident. The president said he is saddened and shocked by the murder. Kiir directed law enforcement agents to arrest the suspect and bring them before the law.
