The chief administrator of Abyei Administrative Area has asked people to be patient as they wait for the formation of the new government. Kuol Deim Kuol was responding to a question on when the new administration is going to be announced.

Kuol told Abyei FM on Monday that the delay is due to pending decision on the size of the government. He says he is waiting for the outcome of the on-going consultations in Juba on the creation of additional administrations.

The leader says President Kiir has formed a committee to review the executive structure of administrative areas. The time the committee will complete its work is not unknown.

The chief administrator is meeting different groups of Ngok Dinka about the establishment of the new administration. Kuol has promised unity and full representation of women and youth in his administration. He was decreed in as the new chief administrator in June 29th by the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir replacing Kuol Alor Kuol.

He took the oath of office on July 1, 2020  and flew to Abyei Administrative Area on July 20th, 2020 where he received a warm welcome from government officials and the ordinary citizens whose expectations range from security, final determination of Abyei status, good roads, improved health to better education for their kids.

In his first political rally in Abyei town on June 21st, Kuol delivered a lengthy speech in which he presented himself as the right person in the position. Sounding optimistic about finding a solution to Abyei’s issue Kuol said it makes him sleepless sometimes.

Promising service to the needy, he appealed to the community to nominate competent men and women to work with him.
