Business communities in Amiet call for resumption of peace committee meetings

The business communities which include Dinka and Missiriya are calling on the Dinka Ngok Paramount Chief Bulabek Deng Kuol and Missiriya’s Mukhtar Babo Nimir to activate peace meetings.

The aim is to find amicable ways to avert any insecurity that might happen during dry season. The appeal came in a joint meeting between Ngok Dinka and Misseriya traders in Amiet on Monday.

Head of Chamber of Commerce in Abyei Administrative Area, Mr. Chol Deng Chol who attended says the reactivation of meetings will help boost peaceful coexistence between the two communities.

The meeting was organized by the UN police with the participation of joint peace committee, traditional authority, community protection committee and joint court.
