A cattle vaccination campaign targeting 90 thousand heads of cattle has started in Twic County of Warrap state on Tuesday. The vaccination exercise aims at protecting cows from deadly diseases such as anthrax and CPC lung disease. The campaign carries a fee of 50 South Sudanese Pounds for each cow to receive the vaccine according to animals’ health official.

Veterinary doctor in Twic Ayuel Kur Mayar told Abyei FM that the exercise was important to reduce cattle’s death in the county. Mayar appealed to cattle owners to bring their livestock to the near vaccination centers in Mayen Abun and Turalei. He said the campaign will move to Aweng, Ajak and Panyok areas among other places in Twic County.
