At least 13 households have been gutted down by fire outbreak in one of the residential areas in Amiet. Hundreds of sleeping materials which included beds, mattresses, and bedsheets as well as clothes were burnt to ashes.

A 35-year-old man was also killed after he was ran over by a vehicle as people were fleeing the fire scene.
The fire caught one of the makeshifts shelters and spread to the rest of the shelters on Monday according to residents.

A residents’ representative Hamid Hamad Abu dabaka says the fire was allegedly ignited by children who were playing under a tree.

This is the third time an inferno destroyed properties in Amiet market since it was established.
