Abyei’s Security Advisor, Kelek Kon says a young man passed on after he was stabbed with a knife in Kol Thiu between Gouli and Todac in Abyei Administrative Area.
The incident happened on Wednesday, according to Kon.
It is believed that the man said to be a youth was from Amiet market when he fell victim of attack which led to his death.
Kelek says the United Nations Interim Security Forces for Abyei has apprehended three people in connection to his killing.
“They are now investigating them whether they are civilians or not. So I urge people not to go fetch fire woods individually. They should be in group of four or five so if anything happens, one among them can inform people,” said Kelek.
Kelek says the victim died on the way while being rushed by UNISFA’s soldiers to Abyei hospital.
On Sunday this week, a trader was robbed of a motorbike and 300,000 SSP on the road between Amiet and Abyei town, prompting Abyei Administration to restrict movement along this road to from 9 in the morning till 4 in the evening.
