Kolom people receive food assistance

Displaced people from Kolom receive humanitarian assistance in 2020

225 families including internally displaced persons and returnees from Kolom in Abyei Administrative Area have received food assistance.

The distribution of the relief food coming from World Food Program was done by Abyei Community Action for Development, a national non-governmental organization  in Abyei town on Saturday.

Chief of Kolom village, Anai Ajak says each family gets 7 malou (about 25 kilograms) of cereals and other items include cooking oil and table salt. Thwe chief says “the assistance came at a right time and may cheer people up.”

In a related news but separate, the Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area, Hon. Kuol Deim Kuol has donated 300,000 SSP to people of Kolom.

More than 60 families who fled Kolom deadly attack last year have returned homes. The armed attack left more than 30 civilians including children and women dead, and scores injured and over 700 families from Kolom and its neighboring villages displaced.
