The death toll due to Covid-19 has risen to four in Abyei Administrative Area, bringing the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the area to 72 including four fatalities.
Speaking to Abyei FM on Tuesday, the Acting Head of Health Administration in the area, Nyanwut Mayen who is also a member of Covid-19 Task Force, urged the public to follow Covid-19 preventive measures to control the spread of the virus.
Ways to contain the virus include frequent handwashing with soap and clean water, wearing face masks, keeping an appropriate distance away from others. The virus is transmitted from one person to another through droplets from mouth or nose of an infected person.
Globally, as of 26 January 2021, there have been 98,925,221 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 2,127,294 deaths, reported to World Health Organization.
