The Director General of Education in Abyei Administrative Area is encouraging senior leavers to apply for scholarships to Sudanese universities.

Sudan has given 500 undergraduates’ scholarship positions for academic year 2020/2021 to South Sudanese students.

South Sudan has allocated 20 out of these positions to Abyei Administrative Area. John Ajang Kiir says only 6 students in the area have applied since the scholarship was announced.

The scholarship is limited to holders of South Sudan Secondary School Certificate of 2019 who are fluent in Arabic language. The deadline for submission of applications to South Sudan’s ministry of higher education, is 28th February 2021.

“If there is anyone who wants his child to study in Sudan, let him not miss this chance,” Ajang said.

He urged students to benefit from this opportunity, saying they should strive for education.
