Abyei Football Association receives new bus

Bus donated to Abyei Football Association

Abyei Football Association received a new bus and sports items on Friday morning.

The bus was donated last month by four South Sudanese owned companies including Achai Wiir and Salaama.

The Secretary of Abyei Football Association, Michael Deng Adok confirmed the receipt of 30-seater passenger bus. He said the presence of the vehicle will ease their operation. Deng added that Abyei teams suffer the cost of transporting players during local and national football competitions.

Still on football, the capacity building training of referees, club managers, and coaches ended on Thursday. 50 participants who attended the training were taught general principles of football and club management.

Secretary of Tahrir Football Club, Munir Simon took part in the workshop and described the training as “beneficial” saying he learnt new skills.

“We learnt how to manage sports problem in a lawful manner…. monitoring football competitions and writing report about the competition. The training was beneficial. There were some things we lacked and now we have learnt them. And I think we would not face any challenge in future,” Simon said.
