Abyei Local Football Association in collaboration the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei are upgrading playgrounds in Abyei Administrative Area.
Abyei Local Football Association has requested for the upgrading of Agok, Mol-mol, Mabony and Martyrs playgrounds as a preparation for South Sudan football League. The work started in Agok playground on Tuesday.
Angelo Aguek Mayol, deputy chairman of Abyei Local Football Association, says the maintenance will support the conduct of football activities in all seasons of the year.
“Maintenance helps us a lot, such as exercises for clubs, and playing matches in rainy season. The football activities in the rainy season affects us during the competition, so that we do playground maintenance. If the rainy comes, will find all playgrounds ready. This is our objective,” Aguek said.
Aguek revealed that South Sudan Football league will begin in April.
The head of Tahrir Football Club has welcomed the work, saying it will encourage regular training.
