Abyei Area Administration has announced completion of construction work on cooperative shop in Noong village in Alal County northwest of Abyei Town.

The project was implemented by Abyei Community Action for Development, ACAD a South Sudanese national organization.

According to administration’s official page on Facebook, the cooperative shop is part of Quick Impact Projects supported by the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).

It anticipates handover from the implementing agent once preparations are finalized.

Construction of cooperative shops began last February in Rumamer County headquarters and Noong village.

In March, Chief Administrator Kuol Deim Kuol promised to avail more than 3,000,000 SSP for construction of cooperatives in Lou, Tajalei and Donguop.

He promised to provide more funds to buy supplies for remote villages during the rainy season.

The pledge was made in Rumamer during fundraising event.

Mijak County Acting commissioner, Chol Adhol confirmed monthly flow of basic commodity supplies to the cooperative shop in Tajalei.
