Education department, partners give schoolgirls bags

The administration of education and partners are distributing girls’ bags in schools in Abyei administrative area. The process began on Thursday. The bags contain soaps and sanitary pads among other items.

The director of primary and secondary schools says they target 1800 leaners in public and private schools. Ms. Nyankiir Chol Piok says the project supported by UNICEF will help girls to continue with their education. She said that Hold The Child promised to provide more items to cover girls in all leaning facilities in the region.

Achol Jurbaai a pupil at Mulmul primary school expressed happiness for the assistance. Besides, she added that the items would help her this month, while calling on parents to support their adult daughters.
