Education authorities in Abyei Administrative Area have confirmed receipt of South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education examination papers on Wednesday 15 March 2023.
The head of the secondary school department spoke to Abyei FM on Thursday 16ht March 2023.
Mr. Langar Abiem Bagat said tests will begin on Monday 20th March 2023 in one center at Abyei coeducation secondary school in Abyei town.
He said there were 258 candidates among them 75 females. He add that 137 candidates in the Science Section while the Arts Section got 121 students. In 2022, only 248 students sat for secondary school examinations. Secondary school examination enrollment in Abyei Area saw a slight jump of 4%.
Mr. Langar is urging parents to excuse their female learners from household duties to allow them to focus on tests.
