Mr. Madut said that the municipality issued a local order No. 5 of the year 2024 stipulating the closure of the old slaughterhouse south of the UNISFA headquarters and relocation to Duop, due to the deterioration of the environment and repeated complaints and reports to the municipal authorities regarding the slaughterhouse.
The executive director added that whoever violates the order will be punished with a fine of 50,000 South Sudanese Pounds or imprisonment for one month in case of failure to pay the fine.
He added that if the violation is repeated, both penalties will be applied together, in addition to the withdrawal of the certification and license, except for wedding and mourning occasions.
